Dad, Lucy, and I decided to brave the rain and blustery wind and go on a RUN together after we woke up! It was such a blast! We saw all sorts of animals too, which made it really fun. This first piggy was rocking! It was massive! My favorite part was the cows, of course. We managed to scare off some sheep, poor things. Nothing like the Irish countryside :).
Breakfast afterwards was lovely! They had a buffet of yogurt, granola, muesli, porridge, juice, and soda bread with jams. On top of THAT, we also ordered a traditional Irish breakfast, crepes, and a spinach omelette. I thought it was so funny that our waitress told the kitchen to redo my overcooked omelette before she served it because I was a Ballymaloe Cookery School student. What a delicious breakfast!! I ate so much bread. I am not going to eat it when I get back to the states, so I guess I was trying to enjoy it as much as I could before I leave.

After checking out, we decided to have some fun shopping!! We went to the Ballymaloe shop for a bit, then headed over to the Blarney castle and explore the woolen mills. We stayed there for AGES. I got a lovely Irish woolen sweater ^_^, and a couple other gifts. It was fun trying on the various woolen items there with Lucy and Dad.
Once we'd had our fill of shopping, we decided to head back to Midleton and get some Wilkie's chocolate! I thought the little trash receptacle was so cute! It looks like it's either a giant lavender plant, or a tiny receptacle (it was the latter, by the way). I love Wilkie's chocolate!! Also her branding! Not only is she bean to bar chocolate, but also bean to CUP! ^_^. So great!

We grabbed a late lunch after sipping on the hot chocolate at a place called "The Greenroom." It's a low-key version of Sage, the über-local restaurant owned by the same guy I believe. We had some burgers and a lovely freshly squeezed veggie juice, finishing off with the Midleton Chocolate Brick, or something like that. I had the same thing in October with Bren and Nan. Round two might have even been better :). If we weren't stuffed as it was, we peeked into a little cafe called "Bitesize" to try a mincemeat tart. I don't think Dad and Lucy had tried it before, so we figured we might as well get a baby one with a gingerbread man and some lattes. I can't believe how spoiled I've been on this trip!
These were some lovely holiday lights along the main street of Midleton. Everyone here is already so festive!
I had to say goodbye to Dad and Lucy once they dropped me off at Ballymaloe again, but that was okay. It's only a week longer until I'm home!
So much to do and so little time!! I can't believe exams are coming up!!
Love,
Livvy
