We woke up bright and early this morning to drive to the medieval city of Kilkenny. I really enjoyed driving through the countryside of Ireland as the sun was still coming up. There was still mist rising from the forests, and the cows and the sheep were just beginning to start the day's grazing. What a beautiful sight! We were moving too fast for me to get a picture, sadly.
When we got to Kilkenny, the festival was also starting to wake up. The whole time we were there, an accordion musician played upbeat French songs that floated across the venue all day. I loved having a chance to go from vendor to vendor testing various goodies. Ireland seems to be cultivating an inspiring and vibrant food scene!
I'm trying out a new presentation of photos by the way, so that's why things are a little different after the first picture. I hope it works out! Let me know what you think!

After Rachel headed back with Patrick, Nan and I continued to explore Kilkenny. We found dinner at a restaurant called Savour in a hotel, but sadly it didn't impress us too much. I had a simple salmon fillet on top of a somewhat bland salad. I guess in comparison to a lot of the delicacies we've been eating lately, we've become a tough audience. On the way back from dinner, we heard live music blasting from a pub, se we decided to investigate. Apparently there were a couple "hen parties" (what they call bachelorette parties here)
