- Brown yeasted bread - this was a pretty straightforward bread to make, though it did need a whole lot more attending to than the soda breads. Mine turned out pretty nicely, though it rose too much before I put it in the oven so the top fell a little bit. I didn't manage to get a picture - sorry!
- SHEPHERD'S PIE! This dish really involved three separate entities - the minced lamb meat filling (which was soooooo delicious and rich!), mashed potatoes, and garlic parsley butter. My garlic butter was really garlicky and I didn't love it, but when it melted on top of the pie it made a nice combo. The process for mashing potatoes was surprisingly strenuous - I had to boil the potatoes just right and peel them while they were still scalding, mix in some milk that I had to have boiling when the potatoes were peeled, then mix it all in a mixer with an egg all when everything is still hot. My station was an absolute mess!! At least I got to have some fun putting the potatoes into a piping bag and experiment! The overall flavor of the pie was quite tasty though and I'd have to say is definitely worth making again, even if the potatoes were a drag!
- Glazed carrots - nonexistent. I didn't have enough time! I can't believe I only had two final dishes to show for, but I guess that's how it goes. I'll just make them on Thursday!
The rest of the evening was beautiful! I walked around the garden for awhile listening to music and taking pictures. It felt nice to be outside after staying inside couped up all day! Here are some of the pictures I took! I've really enjoyed experimenting with different angles and lighting. I absolutely love that orange tendril-y flower! I've never seen it before until coming here, but it seems to grow really well in the area. Also, as I was almost back to my cottage, I noticed a TON of black birds flying in the sky. I thought I'd include the picture because it looked kind of neat!
Here's a picture from when I was on my run. I ran to the beach and was greeted with a very high tide! The pier I was standing on is actually the same object Stan was doing back flips off of on Sunday, if you saw the picture I took! Weird! I guess the full moon was fairly recent, so the tides are still extreme. Sorry if it's a bit blurry!
Until tomorrow and with LOVE!!!
